Philosophy

Preparing food is a craft for those who crave history and adventure. A dish of food, lovingly prepared, can recall an exotic culture far away or prepare one for a famine at home.

In this blog I will connect with my fellow humans. I will learn their cultures, techniques and flavors through the communal act of cooking at home.

It will also be a landing page for a bunch of old recipes I need to get out of my head.

I know times are tough and exotic ingredients can be hard to find. I aim to make easy to follow videos, using ingredients you can find anywhere.

Go Make it Yourself is mostly for vegetarian food ideas.  That doesn’t mean that you won’t see a recipe from time to time with meat in it.  People add meat to their vegetable dishes, they just do.  Those dishes may have something to teach us.  Recipes will be recorded in their original form for the sake of posterity. I will give veganized or healthier suggestions in post.

I myself am not a vegan. I struggle with it. It is nonetheless a medium I enjoy working in.

May we all find balance.
